Giuseppe Gradella is an Italian photographer noted for his water-filtered images. He was born and reared in Mantua, Italy. Gradella has a strong faith in memories and dreams. He is frequently influenced by both physical and mental locations. When time is paused and life and visions mingle in a process of transfiguration and interior re-creation. His art has appeared in Vogue multiple times. Gradella's topics include fashion, architecture, and fine art, but there is a persistent contradiction between what is in front of the camera and what he has kept from his experiences in a continuous study that becomes an introspective self-critique in his images.

I used Giusseppe Gradella's work as inspiration as my images were a little different, for example the models in his pictures were normally in a dark room, with red lipstick and he normally uses plain light, whereas in my pictures I used colourful lights and polyethylene foam sheets to conceal the models face and create a more intriguing effect

The reflection of the models features in the mirror were in focus and the placement of the mirror in which you can see clearly whats being reflected was successful. The light reflection and the shadows also add more colour to the plain background EBI: It would have been better if I had different reflections instead of just her lips, so if I had reflected her eyes as well it would have been a great balance rather than only having one reflection in the mirror. Moreover if I took more pictures and experimented with different mirrors rather than just using a compact circular mirror |
Antonio Gutierrez Pereira
Antonio Gutiérrez Pereira is a Vigo, Spain-based photographer. This artist employs distortion in a novel and creative way by placing two spherical drinking glasses in front of a model's eyes, making them seem bug-like. As a result, her eyes appear enlarged and reversed, yet remain inside the breadth of her face. This produces an almost fantasy-like image of a person with exaggerated features, which is somewhat unsettling because it is a familiar face that viewers would recognise, but the excessive alteration makes it appear much less life-like. Also, the visuals are well thought out, since the glasses have been filled to the same level with water and set without any distance from one another. As a result, they are touching. This produces a symmetrical appearance and sets the magnetisation of the eyeballs at the same distance apart as normal eyes would.

some of the models features were enlarged and distorted, which makes it appear less life-like, thus causes it to be unsetlling to look at as the models face becomes disproportionate due to the water, creating a dramatic effect

This would have been more successful if I used 2 glasses that had the same volume of water rather than different volumes, and if the pictures were taken using a tripod so it would have been centred as some pictures were not centred, moreover if I had better focus as some pictures were out of focus

Joakim Heltne is a Norwegian-born, Copenhagen-based photographer and self-taught illustrator who has studied Fashion Photography at the University of the Arts in London and Art Photography at the Oslo Photographic Arts School. Heltne works mainly within fashion and portraiture photography, illustration and retouch, and is constantly fascinated by architecture. He uses fabrics that sculpt the figure of the model. The models are normally hunched down . which makes the pictures more interesting as it gives it a more sad aura, and creates an unseteling effect to the viewer
I used Joakim Heltne's work as inspiration as my images were a little different, for example, with his work of “human sculptures” series, instead of using high-key lighting like Heltne, i decided to do a low-key version of his images which are more dark and contrasted, and I used different types of fabrics to illustrate the models facial expressions, creating a more interesting effect

Instead of using fabrics that were placed directly on the models' faces, I developed this by using a projector to project various materials, designs, and colours onto the models. This made the models' facial expressions more obvious and gave me more flexibility because I had a wide range of options to choose from. Overall it was more efficient for both me and the models.

The projection of the different patterns was successful as it was more efficient than the previous development because of the fact that you can see the person's facial expressions more clearly, so it was pleasing to look at

Petra Collins
Petra Collins has always placed a strong emphasis on the experiences of women in her pastel-hued images. The Toronto-born artist gives a unique viewpoint on modern womanhood, whether she is criticising body-based stereotypes or portraying the most well-known women in the world. She uses this talent in her newest series, 24 Hour Crazy. Collins shifts her focus away from the fourth wave's obsession with nip slips and body hair and instead celebrates the complexity of the feminine psyche through close-up photography. She says, "Women's emotions are continually categorised. "Every tiny departure from 'pleasantness' gets us branded as crazy. We are instantly viewed as unfeminine, unattractive, or weak when we are furious, unhappy, depressed, or manic. She normally saturates her pictures and uses tiny LED lights and loves really intense colours, making it appear more like a painting.
I used coloured gels and a torch shone through the coloured gels and reflected it on the models face to match Petra collins pictures

The usage of two distinct colours at simultaneously produced a dramatic impact that may be unsettling to see. The red and blue tones contradict one another and could depict several sides or faces that contrast one another, such as good and bad. In several images, I also utilised just one colour to convey a specific sensation.
EBI:
I could develop this by using different colours and have the model express different feelings, additionally using multiple colours at once could make the pictures more visually appealing and using pastel colours just like the artist so that it can highlight the models facial expressions and their feelings

I developed upon the previous images by experimenting with various coloured lighting, close-ups, and different hues reflecting simultaneously on the model's face. Rather than using a sparse amount of colours and only using vibrant hues, I tried using more pastel hues and a variety of different colours reflected on the model's face.

He emphasises the children's facial expressions and their level of screen attention using light reflections from an electronic device's screen. These photographs are frequently taken in a dimly lit space to emphasise the darkness that surrounds the youngsters as well as how completely absorbed they are in their electronic gadgets, blocking out any light.

Final pieces
Explain why these images are your final pieces as they are not from your last set. What is your intention and how do they present your ideas.
I chose these images for my final pieces instead of the last development because the pictures from my last set are a little dull and boring and they are not as interesting as the pictures taken from the previous sets of developments
